DJI Avata 360 Philippines: I Visited DJI One Ayala—Here’s What Changed My Mind

Last Updated: July 9, 2026

Editor’s Note: This article is based on my hands-on visit to DJI One Ayala during the Philippine launch period of the DJI Avata 360. Product pricing, bundle availability, financing options, and promotions may change over time. I recommend contacting DJI One Ayala directly for the latest information before making your purchase.

Transparency Note

This article is based on my visit to the DJI Authorised Store at One Ayala, where I explored the DJI Avata 360, watched a product demonstration, and spoke with a DJI product specialist.

Although my YouTube video includes lighthearted jokes about buying the drone for entertainment, I did not purchase the DJI Avata 360 during this visit. My opinions in this article are based on what I personally observed during the demonstration and my conversation at the store—not on long-term ownership or real-world flight testing.

If you’re researching the DJI Avata 360 Philippines launch before making a buying decision, this article shares my hands-on experience after visiting the DJI Authorised Store at One Ayala in Makati.

“Titingin lang ako.”

No impulse buying. No excuses. Just a quick look at the latest products before heading home.

That was exactly my plan when I visited the DJI Store at One Ayala in Makati.

I wasn’t expecting to place an order. In fact, I even joked that I was there to show everyone my “self-control.” But everything changed when Sir Josh introduced me to the DJI Avata 360.

For years, many aerial content creators have used separate 360 cameras mounted on drones to capture immersive aerial footage. Seeing DJI’s latest product up close made me curious—not just because it was new, but because it suggested a different approach to that creative workflow.

As someone who enjoys exploring new technology but also believes in spending wisely, I wanted to know one thing: Is the DJI Avata 360 really worth considering, …or is it a product that genuinely deserves the attention it’s been getting?

During my visit, I asked plenty of questions, listened carefully to the product demonstration, and looked beyond the marketing. In this article, I’ll share what genuinely impressed me, what buyers should know before making a decision, and why I walked out of DJI One Ayala with a completely different perspective than when I walked in.

DJI Avata 360 Philippines Hands-On Experience at DJI One Ayala

If you’re researching the DJI Avata 360 Philippines before making a buying decision, this hands-on experience is based on my visit to the DJI Authorised Store at One Ayala in Makati. Rather than relying solely on specifications or promotional materials, I wanted to see the product in person, ask questions, and better understand who this drone is really designed for.

I Thought I Was Just Visiting the Store…

If you’ve watched my YouTube videos before, you probably know what usually happens whenever I visit a gadget store.

I tell myself, “Titingin lang ako.”

Sometimes I believe it.

Most of the time… I don’t.

That day was no different.

I visited the DJI Store at One Ayala simply to see what was new. I wasn’t planning to buy a drone. I wasn’t even expecting to be interested in one. My goal was straightforward: look around, ask a few questions, and share the experience with everyone who follows AA Tech Hunter.

Of course, I also joked that I was there to show everyone my “self-control.”

That joke didn’t last very long.

As I was looking around the store, Sir Josh welcomed me and introduced me to the DJI Avata 360. At first glance, I honestly thought it looked like another FPV drone. Since I don’t consider myself an experienced FPV pilot, I assumed it was a product designed mainly for advanced users.

But as the demonstration continued, I realized there was much more to it than I initially expected.

Instead of immediately talking about specifications, Sir Josh explained how the drone could fit different types of users and shooting styles. That immediately caught my attention because I always believe technology should solve a real problem—not simply offer more features.

One of the things that made me curious was how DJI approached immersive aerial content. Like many creators, I’ve seen people attach separate 360 cameras to drones to capture fully immersive footage. While that setup can produce amazing results, it also introduces additional weight, extra equipment, and another piece of gear to worry about while flying.

Listening to the demonstration made me wonder whether this could offer a simpler workflow for creators who enjoy shooting immersive aerial content.

That idea made me pause and think about the product in a different way.

I wasn’t asking myself, “Is this the newest drone?”

Instead, I found myself asking a much better question:

Could this actually make creating immersive aerial videos easier for the right person?

For me, that’s always a more important question than simply asking whether a product has bigger numbers or newer specifications.

The Conversation That Changed My Perspective

As someone who enjoys drones but doesn’t consider himself an advanced FPV pilot, one of the first things I asked wasn’t about the camera or the specifications.

It was about usability.

I’ve always admired FPV drones because of the incredible footage they can produce, but I’ve also seen how intimidating they can be for beginners. Flying at high speeds, navigating tight spaces, and wearing FPV goggles isn’t something that everyone feels comfortable doing on their first day.

So I asked Sir Josh a simple question.

“What if someone isn’t an experienced FPV pilot?”

To my surprise, the answer wasn’t what I expected.

Instead of telling me that the DJI Avata 360 was only for experienced pilots, he explained that DJI had designed multiple ways to control the drone depending on a user’s experience level. Buyers who weren’t yet comfortable using motion controls could choose a more familiar controller, while those who wanted the full immersive FPV experience could pair it with DJI Goggles and a motion controller.

That immediately made the product feel more approachable.

It changed my perspective because, based on the demonstration, it appeared that DJI wanted to make the product more approachable for a wider range of users. Instead of making FPV feel exclusive to experienced pilots, the different controller options suggested a more gradual learning path for creators who wanted to explore this style of flying.

As our conversation continued, another topic caught my attention.

For years, many creators who wanted immersive aerial footage relied on attaching a separate 360 camera to a drone. While that workflow can produce impressive results, it also means carrying additional equipment and adding another component that needs to be secured before every flight.

Seeing DJI’s approach made me think about how much simpler that workflow could become for creators who regularly shoot immersive content.

Of course, no product is perfect, and one demonstration isn’t enough to judge long-term performance. But at that moment, I stopped looking at the DJI Avata 360 as just another new drone.

I started looking at it as a creative tool designed to solve a very specific problem for a particular type of user.

That, to me, is far more interesting than simply having a new product with bigger numbers on a specification sheet.

What Actually Surprised Me

Before visiting DJI One Ayala, I thought I already had a good idea of what this product would be.

I was wrong.

The biggest surprise wasn’t the design. It wasn’t even the camera.

It was how the demonstration challenged my assumption that this type of drone was only intended for experienced FPV pilots.

Like many people, I used to associate FPV drones with experienced pilots—people who enjoy manual flying, high-speed maneuvers, and cinematic freestyle shots. As someone who doesn’t consider himself an advanced FPV pilot, I honestly assumed products like this weren’t designed for users like me.

That assumption started to change during the demonstration.

Learning that buyers could choose different control methods depending on their experience made the product feel much less intimidating. Instead of feeling like an all-or-nothing learning curve, it felt like something users could gradually grow into as their confidence improved.

Another thing that stood out to me was DJI’s attention to ownership, not just flying.

One detail that caught my attention was the replaceable lens protector. It’s a small feature, but one that could make a meaningful difference for drone owners. Anyone who has flown drones knows that even experienced pilots can have unexpected crashes. Knowing that a damaged lens protector can be replaced without immediately worrying about a much more expensive repair gave me additional confidence in the product’s overall design.

I also appreciated that DJI wasn’t only talking about the drone itself. During the demonstration, we discussed accessories, bundle options, replacement parts, and different purchasing choices. Those conversations reminded me that buying a drone isn’t only about the hardware—it’s also about understanding the complete ownership experience.

Perhaps the biggest lesson I took away from the visit was this:

A product doesn’t have to be designed for everyone to be a great product.

The DJI Avata 360 isn’t trying to replace every drone in DJI’s lineup. Instead, it offers a different creative experience for people who want immersive FPV content while giving buyers more flexibility than I initially expected.

That realization completely changed my first impression.

The Biggest Surprise Wasn’t the Drone—It Was the Price

If you had asked me before walking into DJI One Ayala how much I thought the DJI Avata 360 would cost, I probably would have guessed somewhere around ₱100,000.

Maybe even more.

After all, this wasn’t just another DJI product. Based on what I was seeing and hearing during the demonstration, I expected it to sit much higher in DJI’s lineup.

So when the conversation shifted to pricing, I was already preparing myself for disappointment.

Instead, I got one of the biggest surprises of the day.

Sir Josh explained that the Standard Combo, which includes the DJI RC 2 controller, was priced at ₱38,290 during the Philippine launch period.

For buyers who wanted more accessories, DJI also offered Fly More Combo options at ₱47,890, giving users additional batteries and other useful accessories right out of the box.

That wasn’t anywhere close to the number I had in my head.

More importantly, the discussion didn’t stop at the retail price.

We also talked about payment options.

For many Filipino buyers, purchasing a drone isn’t an impulse decision. DJI One Ayala offered installment options for qualified credit card holders, and financing through Home Credit was also available during the launch period.

I appreciated that part of the conversation because buying a drone isn’t only about asking, “Can I afford it today?”

It’s also about understanding which payment option makes the most sense for your budget.

Of course, financing should always be used responsibly. A flexible payment option can make a product more accessible, but it should never be the reason you buy something you don’t actually need.

That conversation reminded me of something I often tell people:

A good deal isn’t about paying less.

A good deal is buying the right product at the right price for your needs.

For me, discovering the launch price completely changed how I looked at the DJI Avata 360.

It didn’t automatically convince me that it was the right drone for me.

But it definitely convinced me to take it far more seriously than I had before walking into the store.

Questions Every Buyer Should Ask Before Ordering the DJI Avata 360

One thing I’ve learned after reviewing technology for years is that excitement can sometimes make us overlook an important question.

“Do I actually need this product?”

It’s a simple question, but it’s often the one buyers forget to ask.

After my visit to DJI One Ayala, I became even more interested in the DJI Avata 360. But at the same time, I reminded myself that being impressed by a product isn’t the same as needing it.

If you’re considering buying one, here are a few questions worth asking yourself before placing an order.

1. Do You Really Need an FPV Drone?

The DJI Avata 360 is designed for a different flying experience than a traditional camera drone.

If your main goal is taking family photos, vacation videos, or simple aerial shots, another DJI drone may better match your needs.

However, if you enjoy creating immersive, dynamic footage that puts viewers in the middle of the action, then the DJI Avata 360 starts to make much more sense.

Buying the right drone is more important than buying the newest drone.

2. Will You Actually Use the 360 Capabilities?

One of the highlights demonstrated during my visit was its approach to immersive aerial content, which immediately caught my attention as someone who enjoys exploring new ways to tell stories through video.

But it’s worth asking yourself an honest question.

Will you use those creative possibilities regularly, or will they only be exciting during the first few weeks?

If most of your videos are edited in a traditional format, you may not fully benefit from what this drone offers.

The best features are the ones you’ll actually use.

3. Are You Willing to Learn FPV Flying?

Even though DJI has made FPV flying more approachable through different controller options, there is still a learning curve.

No drone can completely replace practice.

If you’re excited about learning a new way to fly and creating more cinematic footage, that learning process can be part of the fun.

But if you’re looking for something that’s immediately effortless, it’s worth considering whether an FPV drone matches your expectations.

4. Have You Considered the Total Cost of Ownership?

The drone itself is only part of the investment.

Many owners eventually purchase extra batteries, larger memory cards, replacement propellers, carrying cases, or other accessories.

Thinking about these costs before buying helps avoid surprises later.

5. Are You Buying Because It Fits Your Workflow?

This may be the most important question of all.

Technology should improve the way you create.

It shouldn’t force you to completely change how you work just because it’s the newest product.

The DJI Avata 360 makes the most sense for creators who can clearly see how it fits into their workflow.

If you’re only interested because it’s generating excitement online, it may be worth taking a little more time before making your decision.

For me, these questions are just as important as any specification on a product page.

Specifications tell you what a product can do.

Your answers tell you whether it’s the right product for you.

Who Should Skip the DJI Avata 360?

Just because I enjoyed seeing the DJI Avata 360 doesn’t automatically mean I would recommend it to everyone.

In fact, there are several situations where I think another drone might be the better choice.

First-Time Drone Buyers

If this is going to be your very first drone, ask yourself whether you really need an FPV drone.

For many beginners, a traditional camera drone with a simpler flying experience may be a more comfortable place to start before moving into FPV.

Buyers Who Mainly Take Photos

If your primary goal is capturing landscape photography or simple aerial images, you may not fully benefit from what makes the DJI Avata 360 unique.

Its biggest strengths are best appreciated by people who create immersive video content.

Buyers Following the Hype

New technology is exciting.

That excitement can sometimes lead people to buy products they rarely use after a few months.

If you’re interested mainly because the DJI Avata 360 is new, take a step back and ask yourself how often you’ll realistically use its unique capabilities.

Sometimes waiting is the smartest buying decision.

Budget-Conscious Buyers

Although I was pleasantly surprised by the launch pricing, buying a drone is still a significant investment.

Remember to consider accessories, memory cards, spare batteries, replacement parts, and other long-term ownership costs before making your decision.

People Looking for the Easiest Flying Experience

While DJI has worked to make FPV flying more approachable, there’s still a learning curve.

If your priority is quick, effortless flying with minimal setup, another DJI drone may better match your expectations.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with deciding that this product isn’t for you.

One of the core beliefs behind AA Tech Hunter is that choosing not to buy can be just as smart as choosing to buy.

The goal isn’t to own the newest technology.

The goal is to own the right technology.

The Hidden Cost, Hidden Compromise & Hidden Benefit

One thing I always remind myself before buying any piece of technology is this:

The price tag is only part of the story.

The smartest buying decisions happen when you understand not only what you’re paying for, but also what you’re committing to after bringing the product home.

Here are three things that stood out to me during my visit.

Hidden Cost: The Drone Is Only the Beginning

The launch price of the DJI Avata 360 surprised me in a good way, but buying the drone is only the first step.

Depending on how you plan to use it, you may eventually want additional batteries for longer flying sessions, a high-speed microSD card for recording footage, replacement propellers, spare lens protectors, and other accessories that improve the overall experience.

These aren’t unexpected expenses—they’re simply part of owning a drone.

Thinking about them before buying helps you plan your budget more realistically.

Hidden Compromise: More Capability Usually Means More to Learn

One thing I appreciated during the demonstration was DJI’s effort to make FPV flying more approachable through different controller options.

Even so, it’s important to set realistic expectations.

Based on what I learned during the demonstration, the DJI Avata 360 offers a different flying experience compared to a traditional camera drone.

Like any creative tool, there’s a learning curve.

If you’re excited about learning new skills, that’s part of the fun.

But if you’re hoping to master everything in a single afternoon, you may end up feeling frustrated.

The drone can make flying more accessible—but it can’t replace practice.

Hidden Benefit: It Encourages You to Think More Creatively

This was probably the biggest takeaway from my visit.

Before walking into DJI One Ayala, I was thinking about specifications.

After the demonstration, I found myself thinking about storytelling instead.

Instead of asking, “How many features does it have?”

I started asking, “What kind of videos could I create with this?”

That’s a completely different mindset.

The right technology doesn’t just improve image quality.

It has the potential to expand your creative possibilities.

Whether or not the DJI Avata 360 is the right drone for you, I believe that’s one of the most valuable things any creator can experience.

My Final Verdict

When I walked into DJI One Ayala, I expected to spend a few minutes looking at DJI’s newest products before heading home.

The DJI Avata 360 made a stronger first impression than I expected, but it’s still a product I’d want to evaluate further through real-world use before making any final conclusions.

The DJI Avata 360 wasn’t impressive simply because it was new.

It impressed me because it made me think differently about aerial storytelling and who FPV technology could be for.

As someone who doesn’t consider himself an advanced FPV pilot, I appreciated learning that DJI had created different ways for users to experience the drone depending on their comfort level. That made the product feel far less intimidating than I originally expected.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the Philippine launch pricing. Before visiting the store, I honestly expected a much higher price. Seeing the actual bundle options made me realize the conversation wasn’t simply about affordability—it was about value.

That said, one store visit isn’t enough to fully judge any product.

I didn’t perform long-term testing.

I didn’t evaluate real-world battery performance.

I didn’t test image quality in different lighting conditions.

And I didn’t fly the drone myself.

Those are questions that only extended use can answer.

What I can confidently say is this:

If you’re researching the DJI Avata 360 Philippines, this hands-on visit gave me valuable insight into who this drone is really designed for.

The DJI Avata 360 left a stronger first impression than I expected.

Whether it’s the right drone for you depends on something much more important than specifications.

It depends on how you create.

If you regularly create immersive aerial content or can clearly see how this type of drone fits into your workflow, it deserves a place on your shortlist.

If your needs are simpler, another DJI drone may ultimately provide better value.

That’s exactly why I always encourage people to visit a DJI store whenever possible.

Seeing a product in person, asking questions, and understanding how it fits your own creative goals will almost always lead to a better buying decision than relying on specifications alone.

And for me, that’s what this visit to DJI One Ayala was really about.
